The project is part of the national programme BIOSTRATEG and will focus on the development of new technologies for the production of electrical and heat energy in agricultural and forest areas.
The involvement of the Institute of Fluid-Flow Machinery Polish Academy of Sciences (IMP-PAN) in the SuPREME project led the organisation to secure 5 Mio. euro funding within the BIOSTRATEG Programme on eco-energy technologies. BIOSTRATEG is created by the National Centre for Research and Development and received the approval from the Polish Minister of Science and Higher Education. In total 50 projects will include five strategic problem areas, namely food security and safety, management of natural resources, climate change mitigation, protection of biodiversity and sustainable development, and forestry and wood industries.
With agricultural production on the rise, IMP-PAN will focus to develop technologies for the sustainable development of rural areas as to lower the emissions of agricultural production in the project “New renewable energy technologies for sustainable development of rural areas and low-carbon agriculture”. The developed technologies will support policy of sustainable economy, and especially energy distributed systems in rural areas.
